FLENJ will host our Annual Conference

on March 17th & 18th, 2023

Join us for excellent, forward-thinking professional development hosted by Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.  We are pleased to share that our powerful Keynote Speaker will be Samara Spielberg (@SamaraSpielberg)!

At #FLENJAC23, you will be able to choose from many interactive, engaging sessions that pique your interest and meet your needs. Registering for the event also allows you to participate in great networking opportunities, our annual business meeting, and the student and teacher awards ceremony. Schedule:

The final schedule will be available closer to the date of the conference. Presently, there are four workshops scheduled for Friday and four workshops scheduled for Saturday. Both days include breakfast and lunch, with Samara Spielberg presenting the keynote on Friday before lunch and our annual FLENJ Bussiness Meeting preceding lunch on Saturday.

Important Details:

Registration is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis. An e-confirmation will be sent to all registrants who provide an email address. If you wish to receive a printed confirmation, a self-addressed stamped envelope must be included with this registration form. If you do not receive a FLENJ issued e-confirmation document within two weeks of submitting your registration, please email manager@FLENJ.org.

FLENJ reserves the right to make a substitution of speaker or topic depending on extenuating circumstances, such as speaker illness, missed flights due to inclement weather, closure of the workshop facility, etc.

Professional Development:

5 hours of PD credit will be awarded at the conclusion of the program each day. It is up to your district’s discretion to award credit for attending this type of professional development.

Register Now:

Parking: FLENJ conference attendees may park in Lots 26, 30 (both located behind the College Avenue Student Center and Gym), and the College Avenue Deck (located near Alexander Library; entrance to the Deck is from George Street (southbound). Visit maps.rutgers.edu for an interactive map of the campus (click on New Brunswick, then on College Avenue). Attendees must use this link to register for the event. Until this process is completed, vehicles are not registered, and attendees may receive a citation. Special event parking and special event permits are only for visitors to the University, which does not include free metered parking. Faculty, Staff, and Students must park only in lots they are authorized to park in and should not register under the special event parking link.

Membership: If you are unsure of your membership status, contact the workshop registration coordinator (manager@FLENJ.org) prior to submitting your registration. This will avoid a delay in processing due to incorrect pricing. If multiple names are being registered on a purchase order, each attendee’s membership status needs to be verified prior to submitting the purchase order. Failure to do so may result in incorrect pricing which will delay the registration of the names listed.

Students: To receive the student-discounted rate, you must provide proof of full-time enrollment (12 credits or more for undergraduates and 9 credits or more for graduate students) via a letter from the college or university advisor or registrar. This letter must be sent to manager@FLENJ.org upon registration.

Out-of-State Attendees: FLENJ extends its member rate to anyone who lives outside of New Jersey and is a member of the resident state language teachers’ organization. Please provide our registration coordinator with
proof of membership by emailing manager@FLENJ.org.

Hotels: FLENJ is pleased to share this list of area hotels that are in close proximity to the conference site.

Presenters: Presenters will receive a reduced registration fee of $30.00 (one day) and $60.00 (two days) to attend the conference. A unique code will be provided to receive a reduced registration rate as a presenter. Accepted session proposals will also receive an honorarium.

Registration: Whether paying by credit card online, personal check, school/company purchase order and/or check, you must register for all workshops and conferences online at www.flenj.org.

Paying by credit card: We accept all major credit cards for payment.
Paying by check: If you wish to pay by check, please select “offline payment” when registering. You will enter your information online, then print a coupon to mail in to accompany your check. Please use this address:

Purchase Orders: Please check with your purchasing department to make sure that your purchase order and registration forms have been mailed in a timely manner. To determine if your PO has arrived, send a message to manager@FLENJ.org.

Refunds and Cancellations: Please refer to FLENJ’s Refund and Cancellation Policy that applies to all FLENJ events. Returned checks: Any cost incurred by FLENJ because of stopped payment or NSF checks will be billed to the participant/school.

Unpaid bills: Workshop registration materials from participants/schools/districts with outstanding purchase orders for payment for prior workshops will not be accepted until all financial obligations are paid.
